Three Wins.

Time.

Money.

Mojo.

Rethink them in three minutes or less.

Welcome to week 42 of Three Wins, where I walk you through my process of launching an online course in 2024.

Even if you are not launching an online course, this will help you think about whatever you will launch.

So, this is the last one in this format.

Next week, Three Wins will begin to look through a broader lens of life and business.

(I was hoping to launch the course next week, but I have had to focus on raising working capital for Hiut. So, it is getting pushed back.)

Don’t worry. I will give you updates on how the launch went.

Most people will automatically get the (NEW) Three Wins next week.

(Unless you have gone four weeks in a row without reading one. Then, you will stop getting them. I am interested in helping the interested.)

But to those who have kept showing up, I thank you.

Three Wins, I promise, will be the best investment of 3 minutes.

So, here’s to the end.

And here’s to the start.

  1. Time. 🕰️

I have spent 42 weeks creating a course on how writing gets attention.

I have had to push back the deadline one last time.

  • Let’s look at this through a lens of: Mistakes Vs Regrets.

A mistake is something you failed at but doesn’t move the needle later in life.

A regret is something you can’t change and is permanent.

So…

I would regret it now if I rushed the course to meet a deadline that I set but most people don’t even know it exists.

So, with a regret minimisation lens on, pushing the deadline back is smart.

A win.

Interesting book that I am buying.

  1. Money. 💰

I am better at subscribing to things than unsubscribing.

So, for the last month, I have had to unsubscribe from something that I continue to pay for but do not continue to use.

It feels good.

It's a new feeling, granted.

Now, before I sign up for something new, I have to let go of something.

I have to justify not only the money but also the time.

It is a good discipline.

A win.

  1. Mojo. 🙏

Mojo is everywhere.

Yesterday morning, we showed Tom and Kate around the farm. They are having their wedding here on Saturday.

Tom is now the creative director at one of the best ad agencies in London.

I made the phone call back in the day to tell a friend that I got this guy down here who is a terrible waiter but a great writer.

Yesterday evening, we ended up at a local pub after a meal.

The DJ was Wozza.

I have sponsored his skate jams and bike jams for over two decades.

When he had to self-isolate before an operation, I made him a saucepan full of Spag Bol and left it on his doorstep.

Friends did the same for us when we were delayed returning from holidays.

Wozza was playing some tunes, so I got up and did some crazy dancing.

Clare just laughs at me.

(I learned that in New York in 1987 in the Tunnel nightclub.)

When I finally stopped, a lady came up to me and said she wanted to thank me for helping her son when he worked at Hiut.

I had helped him when he was struggling. I got him some books. An Oura ring to help get his sleep back in order. And just told him he was going to do amazing things.

I guess what I am saying is helping people helps you, too.

A win.

As always, I hope this was useful in some way.

Talk next weekend.

Have a good week.

David.
