Introduction
The bridges get put down first.

The bridges get put down first.

Web 2.0.

The platforms made the most valuable companies in the world, and the creators made all the content.

Not the best deal ever.

But it was the only one in town.

Web 3.0 is coming.

And the creator will become the owner.

For example.

The narrative has been that you couldn’t make money from being a writer.

Then Substack and Ghost.org came along and created a bridge.

From the old world to the new world.

Creators can publish directly to their readers.

They are in control.

They retain their rights.

They get the lions share of the take rate.

And, this is the important bit:

If they decide to leave, they take their audience with them.

A shift of ownership from the platform to the creator is happening.

They’ve already made the first bridges.

More are on the way.
